Best Clay Mask Ever | Aztec Indian Heeling Clay

Wednesday, May 13, 2015
Bien Venido!

Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog. Today I want to talk about one of my holy grail, all time favorite masks: The Aztec Indian Heeling Clay mask. It comes in a tub of just powder which is actually Bentonite. Bentonite is a negatively charged mineral and dirt, oils, and other pollutants that are in your skin are positively charged. When applied to your face, the clay literally attracts all of the dirt and pulls it to the surface, leaving you with clean pores. Isn't that incredible?!

This mask can be mixed with water or Apple cider Vinegar to be turned into a paste. I 100% recommend ACV because it's a lot easier to mix the product and it's super beneficial to acne prone skin!

Reasons to love it:
1) Cheap!
1 lb of this stuff is about $5-7 and it's readily available online, amazon, whole foods, health food stores, and I think I recently saw it in Walmart too? crazy, for such a great product, its UBERR cheap!
2) Shrinks Pores!
After even one use of this product, I can see a significant decrease in the size of my pores. This usually occurs right after I've removed the mask however, after using it constantly of about 2-3 weeks, I can see a noticeable difference in the size.
3) Shrink Blemishes!
The MAIN reason I love this mask so much is because it cures acne! Ok...cure might be a bit of an over statement, BUT it dries out your pimples so super quick like nothing I've ever tried before and trust me...I've tried it all girl. This stuff just sucks the life out of my pimple and I usually do it at night, and in the morning, my pimples are smaller and my face is just brighter!

Reasons to not love it so much:
1) The Smell:
Mixing it with Apple Cider Vinegar does make it kind of smell like feet (my sisters have a big problem with the smell) but after I've done it once or twice, I totally got used to the smell. Also, for as many good things as it's doing for my skin, I can handle a little bit of stench.
2) The Mess:
The mixing and stirring and removing of the clay mask seem to be a hassle for some people but c'mon guys, stop being so lazy! It's going to help your skin immensely (I hope) so the 5 minutes it takes to make the mask and wash it off won't kill ya.

Over all, Im a huge fan of this stuff and you guys should really try it out! I mean what do you have to lose, $5? hahah

Post-Grad Life

Tuesday, May 12, 2015
Hola guys!

Hi! Happy to be back here with another post for you guys. In my last post I was so down haha Just a lot of things were going on in my life at that moment, and I was pretty sad but I think I'm getting better!...in some aspects of my life that is!

Now, I last left off as an undergrad and now....I've graduated! i don't think "post-grad" is the correct term for me to use of myself, since post grad is usually correlated to a post-doc, who is working on their PhD and that is deff not me!...yet! haha but it is after my graduation and I now have my bachelors degree in Spanish!

Now a lot of things have changed but I'm going to do a college reflection post later on. For now, I've moved back home, it took about 5 days to completely move in (yes I have allot of things) but I first started off by clearing away/throwing away things in my house that were just taking up space. I didn't want to start unpacking and just adding to the mess and buildup of junk that was already accumulating. In a house of 5 girls..yeah we have ALOt of junk/extra clothes and what not, but it felt AMAZING throwing every thing away that has been in the same spot for years and never being used. Ofcourse, I am also a hoarder and like to keep things, but this time, everything was a no go and it felt good to let go. It was like, I'm back, moved back in, after 4 years of college, out with the old, in with the new!

I'd really recommend everyone do some spring cleaning and just freshen up your spot, even if its just your desk area or bedroom! It's really good and helpful to clean out your mind mentally and also to clear out physical clutter. I used to be such a messy person in college and basically all my life, like seriously messy to the point where I would have a humoungus clothes pile in the corner of my bed and i just wouldn't care and would add on to it lol but now, as soon as I see a shirt on my floor, I pick it up and put it away and clear any clutter I see, who have  I become right?!?! does this come with age? ahah

But anyway, I made a video and I'm working on making more, also I'd like to blog about reviews on skin care products. I love skin care but I feel like I don't touch on it enough but I deff will starting now! As for my personal life, Im probably going to look for jobs, look into schools, and al that adult serious stuff haha will keep y'all updated tho! Any who, that's enough of a ramble now, talk to y'all soon!

Just Some Feels...

Monday, April 20, 2015
Hey Friends,

Today, i just wanted to write about some things on my mind. Maybe vent a little bit. Lately I've been feeling pretty down. Maybe, no, most likely, it has something to do with me graduating university soon- 2 weeks, eek! But i've been feeling pretty down. I've been really stressed, uninspired, unmotivated and really very stressed.
I feel like i let little things get to my head, even though I shouldn't. Because little things aren't worth my time and I;m better than to let little things consume my mind and get the best of me. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to this. Little things can be boy problems, school problems, family problems, or just other things going on in your life. "Little problems" is all relative though, some things are bigger than others in different people's minds. Depends on your priorities I guess. And maybe i have mine all messed up is why I'm feeling this way? I'm not too sure.
Anyway, I guess a big part of this feeling has to do with leaving my college town and moving back home. i'm going to miss living alone with my roommates, having the freedom of doing what I want and expressing myself, living with my best friends and being exposed to so many people and so many opportunities. It's been a rough, very rough 4 years but I don't know if I'd take it back. College was quite an experience and i think as it gets closer to graduation, I'd like to reminisce about my time here.
Anyway, Im just feeling a little burnt out after these hard 4 years but I know they were worth it in more ways than education. A lot of people feel like they find themselves or their "purpose" or their soulmate in college. i don't know if i can say any of those things are true for me. At times, yes, Im certain I found the one, or I'm certain I know who I am, but at the end of the day, all those things can be temporary, I mean are they even guaranteed? People's feelings can change in an instant and you'll just be left there with everything. Or, you can find yourself doing something that you yourself never thought you'd do. On the other hand, someone can be everything to you, and you can be their everything and you guys can complete each other. But nothing is guaranteed.
Anyway, I'm not sure what the focus to this post was about, but I needed to vent about some things that were on my mind and in my head. Let me know if you can relate or find a little bit of yourself in these thoughts. I know I was a little bit vague about some things, but thats also because I myself am not sure the problem, or the problems that are going on. Any who, if you made it this far in the post, good for you! Let me know your thoughts below!

Chicago | Outfits Of The Week

Hola!

I was in Chicago for the past week, so I was a little MIA from my YouTube & Blog, sorry! I'll be posting a Chicago blog soon if you guys would like one, let me know in the comments below and I'll make one!

Everyone in Chicago is super trendy, despite the -20 degrees weather over there, and I just tried fitting in! Usually I'm a super scrub aka sweats and a hoody all day, but I like dressing up occasionally! I've put together a little LookBook of the outfits I wore while I was there. I'll have the store that I got them from, or similar items, but some things were super old and I just couldn't find them. I worked with a lot of basic pieces and added more trendy pieces on top!

ENJOY!

Girly-fying Timberland Boots

Sunday, March 1, 2015
Hola Everyone!

Today was my little sister's 17th birthday, jeez they grow up so fast, I feel like I was JUST 17 the other day! Usually, we go for brunch with the family but today...we sort of got caught up and headed out too late and couldn't make it to our reservation. Instead, we got Indian! Which I prefer anyway (it's my favorite type of food, literally could have it for every meal!)

I just wanted to share my outfit that I wore today! I finally own a pair of Timberland Boots (I've been eyeing them forever!). They're a little boy-ish and bulky so I wanted to "girly-fy" them to make them cute, although I do sometimes love pairing them with sweats and calling it a day!

I decided to pair them Timbs with a leather skirt and a sweater, not too over-the-top girly, and not too tom-boyish either, I hope you enjoy my look!

 photo DSC_3586_zpsoq5rnygm.jpg

I've had my boots for about 5 months and I've always liked them a little dirtier, I love showing the wear I get out of them, its like its customized!

 photo DSC_3624_zpsech4crdm.jpg

My sweater is from H&M for only $10, it was a steal!! I'm sure they still have it in stock- I only got it about a month ago!

 photo DSC_3625_zpsglzncual.jpg

My skirt is from Forever 21, it was about $20 I think, its a really basic essential for any closet and literally goes with every outfit to add a little edgy feel!

 photo DSC_3627_zpsvlofrbbq.jpg

My black jacket is also from H&M (yes, one of my favorite stores haha), I got it about a year ago, but it's a staple-basic black coat which I'm sure they have at every store right now, and maybe even on sale!

 photo DSC_3592_zpsiieeudyb.jpg

Here's a very unclose of my Face Of The Day, I decided to stick to neutral bronze for my lids and face and add a pop of dark, almost purple lips!

 photo DSC_3618_zpsspwb1com.jpg photo DSC_3621_zps9lm3lmqq.jpg

A gorgeous picture of all of our delicious food!! Who else loves indian food??

That's all for this post, I hope you guys enjoyed my outfit! subscribe and stay tuned for more posts, and leave comments in the section below!

February IPSY Unboxing!

Thursday, February 26, 2015
 photo 75b62311-910c-4a6d-890c-bc32a41f4ac4_zpsrsheot4n.jpg

Hola Everyone!

It's that time of the month again...IPSY UNBOXING!
As usual, I'm a little late but who cares, at least it's still February! I love sharing the products I get every month, so lets just get started! If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a $10 subscription bag that's full of 4-5 full size and sample beauty and hair products. I think it's a great way to discover new brands and try out new products. If you'd like to sign up for a bag, click my link!

 photo 0f35a6b4-c945-47c1-9b83-d2cbd93167a6_zpsfc3zaflp.jpg

Starting off..The bag this month was pretty darn cute! The pattern was adorable, and I'm guessing it's pink because of Vday? I don't really know haha but I'm digging' it. Let's dive inside!

 photo 75c4f49a-5ba6-4e19-bc6c-8b210edceb4f_zpsklputprk.jpg
Pencil Me In: Natural Eye Liner Pencil
This product was an interesting color; a dark, shimmery purple, pretty pigmented and super creamy. i'm not a huge fan/I don't really experiment with different color liners, but maybe this will inspire me? Maybe! My favorite part about this product is that it comes with a little sharpener at the end, how convenient!

photo 255c8539-b7fe-4e8e-a24d-726a9a40821d_zps20xnz9iu.jpg Hey Honey: Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask
I'm a skincare junkie! SO I always love receiving new skin care products to try on. I was really excited when I got this because it's organic and won't irritate my skin! Also, peel off masks are super fun (you get to literally peel them off of your face and see all the grime haha).

 photo 3c9c702e-4d3b-4f0a-a120-c88a64e3752f_zpswo3znujv.jpg

Cargo Cosmetics: Mini Lip Gloss
I gotta say, I'm not a huuugee lip gloss fan, actually, I never have lip gloss on. So I was disappointed in this product, buuuut I tried it on and it's pretty moisturizing, however the color is a little toooo nude for my skin color/taste, but I think it'll be neat to keep in my collection!

 photo DSC_3563_zpsldiwa3ll.jpg photo 42d3316d-c54d-4f1e-85d1-809c2d79cfc6_zpsmx7k5lzw.jpg

ModelCo: Blush
I've never received a blush from Ipsy so I was pretty excited about this one. It's a color that I don't own and it's a little on the darker side which is good for night makeup! It has a little sheen to it too that adds a glow which I'm a huge fan of!

Eva NYC: Up All Night Volumizing Spray
Skin and haircare are MY THINGS! Who doesn't love some extra volume in their hair? I haven't tried this product out yet, but I'm guessing it'll be similar to the Big Sexy hair volumizing mouse, which I have tried and love!

That's all in my bag this week. It's not my favorite bag, but it's not the worst, I'm excited to try out some of these products. Let me know what you guys got below!

Thanks for reading & remember to comment and subscribe!

Oil Method For Growing Hair Faster, Healthier & Stronger!

Thursday, February 19, 2015
Hola Everyone!

How's everyone doing? I'm back today with some tips and tricks on oiling hair. I LOVE oiling my hair, I've been doing it for a few weeks now and I already see a difference! When I was a little girl, my mom used to oil my hair everyday after my shower. I've got to thank her and the oil for my thick, healthy hair that I have today. As I got older, I stopped oiling my hair because I got busy/lazy lol. Ever since I started bleaching my hair, I wanted to repair the damage that I've caused. My hair was very dry, brittle, and thinning, so I knew I had to get it back to what it once was!

I did my research and found the perfect trifecta of oils that treats my hair amazingly. Now, I know there is a really big hype with Coconut Oil, but for me, I just didn't have a good experience with it. Of course I used the organic, non-refined and cold pressed version (which everyone should use no matter what type of oil to get the best results) but I felt like it was so heavy and thick and didn't wash out of my hair even after 2 shampoos and left my hair dryer than before! I do know some people that swear by coconut oil, but it's just not for me.

I have 3 oils to share with you today!

1. Castor Oil: Castor oil is a really thick oil but super beneficial! This oil should be applied directly onto the scalp and used with a carrier oil (lighter oil) so it's easier to work with. Castor oil stimulates the blood flow and hair follicles on your scalp, which in turn make your hair grow faster. MANY people use this oil for growing longer, and thicker oils.
 photo HRP-22104-2_zps46f79ory.jpg

2. Almond Oil: This oil can be used as the carrier oil for Castor Oil. Mix a little bit of Castor with the Almond and massage it into your scalp. I really like almond oil because it's light and very moisturizing. I feel like the oil actually penetrates into my hair strand and repairs it and also only takes one wash to remove from my hair. After washing it off, my hair literally feels so much smoother and silkier! This, unlike with the Castor Oil, can be applied all throughout the length of your hair!

 photo pGNC1-3136930t300x300_zpslxg0jyit.jpg

3. Rosemary Essential Oil: This is the extra little punch in the trifecta. you only need 3-5 drops of this in your mix and it also, like the castor oil, should go on only the scalp. It helps to stimulate the follicles,  which of course makes your hair grow longer faster! It also is known to prevent graying hair AND hairless! It's like a miracle product, which is why you can see a lot of shampoos and hair products in the market that incorporate Rosemary oil

 photo 300_zpskoq88sgl.jpg

Application: Now, the way to apply all of these oils! The way I do it, and I have seen the best results with this method: Mix a nickel sized amount of Castor Oil with a dime sized amount of Almond oil and 3-5 drops of Rosemary oil and mix that in your hands. Then, I use my fingertips to apply the oil to my scalp and MASSAGE my head. It is very important to not use your nails to aggravate your scalp, but gov sit a nice massage! It feels SO good and is also very beneficial for your hair! I continue to make this mixture until I am sure my entire scalp is covered. I then take just the almond oil in my hair and spread it throughout my hair. I clip up all of my hair and just go on with my day or keep it on overnight. When I'm ready to wash it off, I only shampoo once, concentrating on my scalp and I still condition the bottom of my hair. With this method, after my hair is dry, its no longer oily but sold and shiny!

With this method I've noticed my hair has grown really fast this month! But, I'll keep you guys updated! Also, it's very important to note that the health of your hair depends on so many other factors as well, such as diet, climate, water, ect. This is just one method to improve the health/grow faster.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like more info on hair care/my hair. All of these oils were purchased at Whole Foods Supermarket and were relatively inexpensive (~less that $10).

Thanks for reading guys! Make sure to subscribe for more! Adios!

Galentines Celebrations! (Valentines)

Saturday, February 14, 2015
Hello all! Happy Valentine's Day!!

I hope you all are spending this special day with the people you love, friends, family, or significant other, doesn't matter, just show some love to someone! I'm not a huge fan of Valentine's day, but I have nothing against people who love it. I think it's a cute holiday, and whats wrong with showing some extra love? NADA!

For me, me and my college roomies have a 4 year on-going tradition of celebrating Valentines day together since freshman year of college (now we're seniors- eep!) It started out freshman year when I was the only one of the three that had a bf, but I wasn't too big on celebrating it either, so us three hung out. Now, 2/3 of us have bf's but that doesn't change a thing!

We usually celebrate it a few days before or on Vday and we always end up at The Original Cottage Inn restaurant. At least it's a pretty restaurant. I remember the first year we tried to get reservations to Olive Garden at 7pm on Vday (what were we thinking?) and the hostess said there was a 5 hour wait (duh!), so we ended up eating at Cottage Inn- a local restaurant at our campus. The next year, we conveniently ended up moving right across the street from Cottage Inn, so of course we went there for Vday again. After that, it was just a tradition: Valentine's Day at Cottage Inn!

This year, we celebrated by dressing up, having dinner, and catching the midnight premier of 50 Shades of Grey- Who has seen this movie? Comment below and tell me what you think! I've posted some photos below- enjoy!

 photo FA01DDC1-469F-4EF8-A147-FE5FB27D269B_zpsb1sheg1g.jpg

Here's a selfie (ofcourse!) of me and my look for my galentines date. I sported a red lip for the occasion, I usually steer away from bright colored lips, but I liked it, what do you guys think? I wore a sequined tank with a leather skirt!

 photo 405ED620-AF37-427F-917A-1376B50B3FD3_zpsviir1q1r.jpg

Here's a picture of our yummy food! We literally came in 5 minutes before closing and were so surprised they gave us a table! I ordered a vegetarian spinach and feta pizza- DEEE-licious!

And finally, here is a picture of me and my beautiful roomies all dolled up for a girls night out!

I hope you enjoyed this post! How was your Vday/how do you feel about the holiday? Let me know below! Adios!

So, I know I'm a little late on this unboxing, but better late than never....right?!
I've been subscribed to an Ipsy bag for about a year now. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a $10 subscription bag that's full of 4-5 full size and sample beauty and hair products. I think it's a great way to discover new brands and try out new products. If you'd like to sign up for a bag, click my link!

http://www.ipsy.com/r/3zrr?sid=ipsypoints&cid=general

I'll be doing a monthly Ipsy bag unboxing as soon as I receive mine, so lets get started!

This is how the bag looks this month. Every month, Ipsy designs the cutest bags and they are GREAT for storing your makeup or traveling with! This month its a very nice, kind of tweed-blue. But..lets see what's on the inside!

Elizabeth Mott: All Over Shadow Brush
How cute is the handle and tip on this brush? Its a really great, dense brush! It's great for all over base color or crease color for blending. The bristles are synthetic but very very soft.

Bella Pierre: Shimmer Powder This is more of a mineral shimmer powder. I'm not sure where exactly you're supposed to use this, but I use it as a highlight. It's beautiful on the inner corners of the eye or a brow bone highlight.

(Malin + Goetz): Mojito Lip Balm
Now. I'm not sure as to what makes this Lip Balm "mojito" but there is definitely no alcohol in this, so don't worry! haha  I've heard great things about this brand and was pretty excited to use this. It's a very thick, nourishing lip balm and I use it over night for intense moisture. This doesn't have any color or fragrance.

Pacifica: Natural Mineral Coconut Eyeshadow
This is a really pretty bronze eye shadow. I've tried this brand before and the pigmentation and formula is amazing. This is a great all-over color for the lids and goes perfectly with the Elizabeth Mott shadow brush. I'd definitely would repurchase this!

Nourish Organic: Renewing Eye Cream
I'm always on the lookout for an eye cream and this one is great because its Organic! Made with Avocado and Argon, it won me over! The formula isn't as thick as I would like it to be, but it does moisturize my eye area and allows for a crease-free concealer application.

That's all for this bag. Over all, I'm pretty happy with this bag, I know I'll get a lot of use from it. If you'd like to start your own subscription to Ipsy, just click the link below, you wont regret it!

Castor Oil For Thicker Lashes?

Tuesday, January 20, 2015

Hey all!

This is my first blog post and I thought why not start with talking about a new favorite oil of mine? Castor Oil! I picked up my first bottle from Whole Foods after reading a lot about the product and watching countless videos. Specifically this one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJHGlCH4P2A&noredirect=1 Farah Dhukai's videos intrigued me to the oil. Her lashes are BEAUTIFUL! Her hair is so luscious and shiny and I've always wanted to know how to get it! Were her lashes natural? After watching that video, I understood and was craving castor oil. It's fairly inexpensive, I think I got mine for about $5 and its readily available in many health food stores; Whole Foods, Trader Joes, ect. BUT! Be sure you get the 100% Castor Oil, unrefined and cold-pressed! This is organic and you can assure that you get the most for your money.

The one below is the one I found at Whole foods!

I started using it on Monday January 12. So, it's been a week and my boyfriend says he notices my lashes looking a lot longer and fuller. Of course, he's my bf and he may just be saying that LOL. I notice a little bit of thickness, my mascara application is a lot smoother and bolder. I've read that it takes about 6 weeks to see the full results, so I'll be checking back about once a week to update you guys on the results!

Adios for now!

EDIT: Some people claim that Castor Oil damages your eyes. I was really worried and did extensive scientific research but found no hard evidence of it. Many sources actually said it heals eye problems. So, I'm not worried and will continue to try this experiment!
