Hola Everyone!

It's that time of the month again...IPSY UNBOXING!
As usual, I'm a little late but who cares, at least it's still February! I love sharing the products I get every month, so lets just get started! If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a $10 subscription bag that's full of 4-5 full size and sample beauty and hair products. I think it's a great way to discover new brands and try out new products. If you'd like to sign up for a bag, click my link!

Starting off..The bag this month was pretty darn cute! The pattern was adorable, and I'm guessing it's pink because of Vday? I don't really know haha but I'm digging' it. Let's dive inside!

Pencil Me In: Natural Eye Liner Pencil
This product was an interesting color; a dark, shimmery purple, pretty pigmented and super creamy. i'm not a huge fan/I don't really experiment with different color liners, but maybe this will inspire me? Maybe! My favorite part about this product is that it comes with a little sharpener at the end, how convenient!

I'm a skincare junkie! SO I always love receiving new skin care products to try on. I was really excited when I got this because it's organic and won't irritate my skin! Also, peel off masks are super fun (you get to literally peel them off of your face and see all the grime haha).

Cargo Cosmetics: Mini Lip Gloss
I gotta say, I'm not a huuugee lip gloss fan, actually, I never have lip gloss on. So I was disappointed in this product, buuuut I tried it on and it's pretty moisturizing, however the color is a little toooo nude for my skin color/taste, but I think it'll be neat to keep in my collection!

ModelCo: Blush
I've never received a blush from Ipsy so I was pretty excited about this one. It's a color that I don't own and it's a little on the darker side which is good for night makeup! It has a little sheen to it too that adds a glow which I'm a huge fan of!

Eva NYC: Up All Night Volumizing Spray
Skin and haircare are MY THINGS! Who doesn't love some extra volume in their hair? I haven't tried this product out yet, but I'm guessing it'll be similar to the Big Sexy hair volumizing mouse, which I have tried and love!

That's all in my bag this week. It's not my favorite bag, but it's not the worst, I'm excited to try out some of these products. Let me know what you guys got below!

Thanks for reading & remember to comment and subscribe!

Oil Method For Growing Hair Faster, Healthier & Stronger!

Thursday, February 19, 2015
Hola Everyone!

How's everyone doing? I'm back today with some tips and tricks on oiling hair. I LOVE oiling my hair, I've been doing it for a few weeks now and I already see a difference! When I was a little girl, my mom used to oil my hair everyday after my shower. I've got to thank her and the oil for my thick, healthy hair that I have today. As I got older, I stopped oiling my hair because I got busy/lazy lol. Ever since I started bleaching my hair, I wanted to repair the damage that I've caused. My hair was very dry, brittle, and thinning, so I knew I had to get it back to what it once was!

I did my research and found the perfect trifecta of oils that treats my hair amazingly. Now, I know there is a really big hype with Coconut Oil, but for me, I just didn't have a good experience with it. Of course I used the organic, non-refined and cold pressed version (which everyone should use no matter what type of oil to get the best results) but I felt like it was so heavy and thick and didn't wash out of my hair even after 2 shampoos and left my hair dryer than before! I do know some people that swear by coconut oil, but it's just not for me.

I have 3 oils to share with you today!

1. Castor Oil: Castor oil is a really thick oil but super beneficial! This oil should be applied directly onto the scalp and used with a carrier oil (lighter oil) so it's easier to work with. Castor oil stimulates the blood flow and hair follicles on your scalp, which in turn make your hair grow faster. MANY people use this oil for growing longer, and thicker oils.

2. Almond Oil: This oil can be used as the carrier oil for Castor Oil. Mix a little bit of Castor with the Almond and massage it into your scalp. I really like almond oil because it's light and very moisturizing. I feel like the oil actually penetrates into my hair strand and repairs it and also only takes one wash to remove from my hair. After washing it off, my hair literally feels so much smoother and silkier! This, unlike with the Castor Oil, can be applied all throughout the length of your hair!

3. Rosemary Essential Oil: This is the extra little punch in the trifecta. you only need 3-5 drops of this in your mix and it also, like the castor oil, should go on only the scalp. It helps to stimulate the follicles,  which of course makes your hair grow longer faster! It also is known to prevent graying hair AND hairless! It's like a miracle product, which is why you can see a lot of shampoos and hair products in the market that incorporate Rosemary oil

Application: Now, the way to apply all of these oils! The way I do it, and I have seen the best results with this method: Mix a nickel sized amount of Castor Oil with a dime sized amount of Almond oil and 3-5 drops of Rosemary oil and mix that in your hands. Then, I use my fingertips to apply the oil to my scalp and MASSAGE my head. It is very important to not use your nails to aggravate your scalp, but gov sit a nice massage! It feels SO good and is also very beneficial for your hair! I continue to make this mixture until I am sure my entire scalp is covered. I then take just the almond oil in my hair and spread it throughout my hair. I clip up all of my hair and just go on with my day or keep it on overnight. When I'm ready to wash it off, I only shampoo once, concentrating on my scalp and I still condition the bottom of my hair. With this method, after my hair is dry, its no longer oily but sold and shiny!

With this method I've noticed my hair has grown really fast this month! But, I'll keep you guys updated! Also, it's very important to note that the health of your hair depends on so many other factors as well, such as diet, climate, water, ect. This is just one method to improve the health/grow faster.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like more info on hair care/my hair. All of these oils were purchased at Whole Foods Supermarket and were relatively inexpensive (~less that $10).

Galentines Celebrations! (Valentines)

Saturday, February 14, 2015
Hello all! Happy Valentine's Day!!

I hope you all are spending this special day with the people you love, friends, family, or significant other, doesn't matter, just show some love to someone! I'm not a huge fan of Valentine's day, but I have nothing against people who love it. I think it's a cute holiday, and whats wrong with showing some extra love? NADA!

For me, me and my college roomies have a 4 year on-going tradition of celebrating Valentines day together since freshman year of college (now we're seniors- eep!) It started out freshman year when I was the only one of the three that had a bf, but I wasn't too big on celebrating it either, so us three hung out. Now, 2/3 of us have bf's but that doesn't change a thing!

We usually celebrate it a few days before or on Vday and we always end up at The Original Cottage Inn restaurant. At least it's a pretty restaurant. I remember the first year we tried to get reservations to Olive Garden at 7pm on Vday (what were we thinking?) and the hostess said there was a 5 hour wait (duh!), so we ended up eating at Cottage Inn- a local restaurant at our campus. The next year, we conveniently ended up moving right across the street from Cottage Inn, so of course we went there for Vday again. After that, it was just a tradition: Valentine's Day at Cottage Inn!

This year, we celebrated by dressing up, having dinner, and catching the midnight premier of 50 Shades of Grey- Who has seen this movie? Comment below and tell me what you think! I've posted some photos below- enjoy!

Here's a selfie (ofcourse!) of me and my look for my galentines date. I sported a red lip for the occasion, I usually steer away from bright colored lips, but I liked it, what do you guys think? I wore a sequined tank with a leather skirt!

Here's a picture of our yummy food! We literally came in 5 minutes before closing and were so surprised they gave us a table! I ordered a vegetarian spinach and feta pizza- DEEE-licious!
